MESA 2008 Roundtable Details

Please consider the following before submitting your roundtable:

    Submitting this form will register your roundtable and you as its organizer. If you are participating on the roundtable or anywhere else on the program, please complete the appropriate form to register that instance of participation. For example, if you are chairing your roundtable, complete the roundtable chair details form. If you are presenting a paper on different panel, please complete the paper presenter details form.

  • Read the Call for Papers instructions for complete submission guidelines.
  • A complete roundtable submission includes this form and: 1) a roundtable participant details form for each participant (personal information and description of participation) and 2) a chair form for the roundtable chair (if assigned at the time of submission).
  • Your participants can submit their roundtable participant details forms directly to MESA OR you can submit them on their behalf, whichever you prefer.
  • If your participants are submitting their own forms, please make certain they know the name of the session and that they are to list you as the roundtable organizer. This helps us collate the submissions.
  • Please also make sure your participants know their participant numbers. This is the only way we can identify which description goes with which participant.
  • If in addition to organizing your session you are also participating on it or any other session, please complete the appropriate forms for your participation. This form simply registers your session and you as its organizer. For example, if you are chairing the session, complete the chair form; if you are a participant on it, complete a roundtable participant details form; if you are presenting a paper on another session, complete the paper presenter details form. MESA needs one form for each instance of participation at the annual meeting.
  • MESA membership and annual meeting pre-registration are required of all prospective participants to submit proposals for the annual meeting*. To avoid delay in processing your session, please encourage your participants to renew their membership or join MESA and pre-register for the meeting well in advance of the February 15 deadline for proposals.

*For foreign scholars and persons who deem themselves outside the field of Middle East studies, MESA may consider granting a one-time exemption to the membership rule. Those who have been MESA members or participated in the annual meeting in the past would not be eligible for the one-time exemption. To request a one-time exemption, please go here.
