In N.Y., Sparks Fly Over Israel Criticsim: Polish Consulate Says Jewish Groups Called To Oppose Historian
Michael Powell, Washington Post Staff Writer
The Washington Post
October 9, 2006
(full text)

This is another article that addresses the issue of the last-minute cancellation of a talk by Tony Judt, European Historian at New York University. Judt was to give a talk on the Israel lobby in the U.S. to a non-profit organization renting space from the Polish consulate in New York. The Polish Consulate General cancelled the talk about an hour before its start due to phone calls from Jewish groups that he deemed "very elegent but (that could be) interpreted as exercising a delicate pressure."
